Meet Raleigh
"I attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am currently undecided upon my intended major, but I am leaning towards double majoring in Political Science and History, with a minor in Spanish. At Asheville High School, I was what some might call a "well-rounded" student. I was a four-year varsity soccer player, two-time woodwind captain of the marching band, principal bass clarinetist of the Wind Symphony (the top music ensemble) and the clarinet choir, President of both the National Honor Society and the National Math Honor Society (Mu Alpha Theta) and a member of the Tri-M (Music) Honor Society. Outside of school, I volunteered my time as an after-school tutor at my local YWCA and at MANNA warehouse, a Western North Carolina Food Bank. I also refereed youth and adult league soccer, and was named North Carolina's Junior Female Referee of the year in 2017. I intend to stay busy at UNC, but I want to try a few new things. I plan on getting involved with Student Government, Social Justice Advocate groups, local community service projects, and the Spoken Word team. I will be playing intramural soccer, ultimate frisbee, and beach volleyball in my free time, as well as learning how to play the piano. I will also be going abroad to study the summer after my freshman year, and I hope to spend the entirety of my junior year abroad. I am so grateful to CFWNC for allowing me this opportunity to pursue my ambitions and my passions, and I cannot wait to see where the next four years take me."
