WFW Hosts Crucial Conversations on Human Trafficking

This annual and much-anticipated event will focus this year on Human Trafficking in North Carolina. Human Trafficking involves the illegal trade of people to perform sexual acts or forced labor. At this event, three women will share valuable information about various aspects of Human Trafficking, including its background, available programs to help victims and potential legislation used to combat it. NC rates in the top ten states in the nation in trafficking violations and active policy changes must be addressed to halt this form of modern day human slavery.

The speakers include Libby Coles, Chair of NC Human Trafficking Commission; Christina Shaw Long, Director of Salvation Army's Social Ministries; and Senator Terry Van Duyn, Minority Whip of NC State Senate.

Crucial Conversations on Human Trafficking in WNC will be held Friday, February 24th, from 11:30a - 1:00p at Asheville Country Club. Your $15 admission, payable by cash or check at the door, includes lunch and the program. Registration is required and can be completed on Eventbrite.
