New Board Members Elected

Milton Butterworth, Elizabeth Brazas and Carla Barnard

CFWNC is pleased to announce the following new board members who have been elected to serve a three-year term. These individuals began their terms on July 1 and are selected for a variety of strengths and experience that will help guide the direction and growth of the Foundation.

Carla Barnard worked in London as a commercial real estate attorney for Hogan Lovells LLP, specializing in real estate finance, investment and complex development work for institutional clients. Since moving to Asheville in 2013, Carla has used her expertise to move into commercial real estate brokerage where she works alongside investors, businesses and nonprofit organizations to meet their CRE goals. She serves on the WNC Real Estate Foundation Board for CFWNC, Buncombe County Board of Adjustment, Brother Wolf Animal Rescue Board, Asheville Music School Board and Swannanoa Valley Medical Center Board.

Milton Butterworth is Community Health Manager for Pardee UNC Health Care in Hendersonville, NC, where he leads programming to improve health for Henderson County residents, which include managing a Duke Endowment-funded community initiative, Healthy People Healthy Carolinas. It takes a bold approach to addressing chronic health issues, such as unhealthy weight, diabetes and heart disease while placing an emphasis on coalition building. Milton currently serves on CFWNC’s Development and Engagement Committee.
