The Transylvania Excellence in Education / Excellence Award provides scholarships to public high school seniors in Transylvania County who excel in the academic field of English. The award was established by a resident of Transylvania County who wished to remain anonymous. Since the award's creation, other local donors have joined in supporting this scholarship.

Eligibility
One award is available to a Transylvania County public high school senior who has demonstrated excellence in the study of English. The program aims to target students who would not usually be recognized by other scholarship programs.
CFWNC ensures that all scholarship recipients are selected on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis and that selections are based on specific guidelines and criteria for each fund.

An essay is a required component of the application for this scholarship. Please submit, within the online application, a composition (two double-spaced typed pages) that addresses your goals and your interest in the academic field of English.

To apply, students must complete an application online. The application, with required attachments, must be submitted online on or before the deadline. Award Year 2024 closed.
