Women for Women

What is a Memorial Fund?

A memorial fund is a charitable fund established to accept donations in memory of a loved one and a simple, meaningful way to honor a life. Establishing a memorial fund at The Community Foundation allows you to turn memorial gifts into a lasting legacy with the potential to impact the community for years to come.

Memorial funds can be established to support a range of charitable causes including your loved one’s passions and interests. We acknowledge each donation as it is received and notify you of the gift so that you may thank the donor in your own way.

A memorial fund can be opened easily and quickly.

Cash and other gifts to memorial gifts are eligible for an itemized tax deduction. Cash gifts to memorial donor advised funds are ineligible for the universal charitable deduction.

About

When Taylor Hunt died in a whitewater paddling accident in Ecuador, his parents, Cat Potts and Marc Hunt, and brother Colin Hunt chose to remember him through a fund at CFWNC that supports the causes and activities that gave him joy during his lifetime.
