Response and recovery in our region

Emergency and Disaster Response Fund

CFWNC activated its Emergency and Disaster Response Fund to accept and disburse funds supporting a regional response and relief efforts in 18 counties of Western North Carolina including the Qualla Boundary on September 29. Funds ensure that nonprofits have the resources they needed for the critical early response and continuing recovery. Administrative fees are waived so that every dollar goes directly to assistance.

To donate by check: make your check payable to The Community Foundation and mail it to 4 Vanderbilt Park Drive, Ste. 300, Asheville, NC 28803; please include EDRF in the memo line. If you would like to contribute stock or make a wire transfer, Melissa Crouse can help.

Thank You for Supporting Relief and Recovery

The Community Foundation is overwhelmed by the generosity and financial support for the relief, recovery and rebuilding work taking place in WNC. We are collaborating with regional funders, Dogwood Health Trust and WNC Bridge Foundation, and they are both early funders of this effort. We have had major gifts from NC funders such as The Duke Endowment, William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust, The Leon Levine Foundation, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC Foundation, and many others. Our community foundations colleagues have shown up in force and so have their fundholders. CFWNC’s fundholders, rooted in WNC, have generously committed resources.

On top of this, we have received donations from more than 10,000 of you from across the country. We are so inspired by this meaningful commitment of resources to support frontline nonprofits. We are honored that so many want to give and have chosen to do so through CFWNC.

We are deeply grateful.
