Ramble Charitable Fund Awards $101,000 in Grants

(June 2025) – The Ramble Charitable Fund at The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) recently awarded twelve grants totaling $101,000. The Fund was established to improve the quality of life in Shiloh and South Buncombe communities by supporting education, economic development, health care and other projects that promote community development. With these grants, total grantmaking since 2008 is $955,826. 


Recent grants are:

$7,500 to Arts For Life to provide arts-based support services to pediatric patients and their families.

$7,500 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina to match mentors with under-resourced youth.

$10,000 to Carolina Day School to support a summer enrichment program for students from low-income families.

$10,000 to Charles T. Koontz Intermediate School PTO for flexible seating in classrooms to improve student focus and engagement.

$5,000 to Eliada Homes to provide food services to residents in Shiloh and South Buncombe.

$7,500 to Equal Plates Project to provide meals to Shiloh youth during the summer.

$3,500 to Friends of WNC Nature Center to provide high-quality STEM and environmental education programs.

$10,000 to Getting Back To The Basics for a summer education program that helps under-resourced children overcome learning loss.

$10,000 to Helping at Risk Kids to provide underserved children with basic needs and enrichment opportunities.

$10,000 to Helpmate to provide critical services to domestic violence survivors navigating the legal system.

$10,000 to Irene Wortham Center to support its disabilities and early childhood development programs.

$10,000 to Shiloh Community Association for property management and maintenance.

CFWNC works with families, businesses and nonprofits to strengthen communities through the creation of charitable funds and strategic grantmaking.
