Cultural Resources Grants totaling $55,000 Awarded

(August 2025) The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) recently approved $55,000 in Cultural Resources focus area grants for general operations to eleven visual arts organizations across WNC. CFWNC awards discretionary funding in Education, Cultural Resources, Human Services, and Natural Resources.

Cultural Resources grants are made through competitive and proactive awards. Competitive general operating grants are distributed according to a rotating schedule and through an expedited application.  Proactive applications may be invited for unique projects or programs that address the Cultural Resources focus area goals. 

Unrestricted gifts of $5,000 were awarded to:

Art League of Henderson County serving Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Polk and Transylvania counties

Asheville Art Museum serving the WNC Region

Asheville Creative Arts serving Buncombe County

Black Mountain Center for the Arts serving Buncombe County

Cherokee County Arts Council of NC serving Cherokee County

Lamplight AVL  serving Buncombe County

Preserving A Picturesque America Incorporated serving the WNC Region

RADA Foundation serving Buncombe County

Swannanoa Valley Art League serving Buncombe County

Tryon Painters and Sculptors  serving the WNC Region

Upstairs Artspace serving Buncombe, Henderson, Polk and Rutherford counties

The Terrence Lee One Love Fund provided co-investment for these grants.
