(August 2026) CFWNC recently approved $27,500 in Cultural Resources focus area grants for general operations to six communication arts organizations across WNC. CFWNC awards discretionary funding in Education, Cultural Resources, Human Services, and Natural Resources.
Cultural Resources grants are awarded through competitive and proactive processes. Competitive general operating grants are distributed through an expedited application. Proactive applications may be invited for unique projects or programs that address the Cultural Resources focus area goals.

Asheville Independent Arts and Music serving the WNC Region
Center for Cultural Preservation serving Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Macon, Madison, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, and Yancey counties
Polk County Film Initiative serving Buncombe, Henderson, Polk, and Rutherford counties
The Asheville Darkroom serving the WNC Region
Wilma Dykeman Legacy serving the WNC Region
