2025 Year End Report

Dec 2025

During much of last year, we remained focused on relief and recovery efforts post-Helene. While we paused some grants programs to redirect resources to that work, many of our grant programs continued and are highlighted in the report.

With more than 10,000 donations and the support of our fundholders and Board, CFWNC supported nonprofits and public agencies helping communities recover, rebuild, and heal. To date, nearly $40 million has been distributed. CFWNC has distributed the bulk of the funds that were placed here, but we continue to be engaged in efforts across WNC. Read the WE RISE report and view a directory of more than 525 grants.

When communities come together to lift up others, the entire region benefits. This willingness to give is central to the daily work of community foundations, and we are fortunate to be in alliance with people who care deeply about Western North Carolina.

Looking back, we hope that we can continue to foster the spirit of generosity that so buoyed us. It was inspiring to experience, witness, and support.
