
Centerpiece Sales
This year the Power of the Purse vases have been created by
four talented local female artists.
Each handmade vase is slightly different
and will by filled with a stunning custom arrangement by
the designers at
Blossoms at Biltmore Park.
Each centerpiece will be for sale with the proceeds
benefitting The Women's Fund.
Information including prices and purchase
instructions will be posted with each vase.
Kristin Benyo Schoonover
Asheville artist Kristin Benyo Schoonover specialized in thrown and altered functional
stoneware. Her work can be found at Crimson Laurel Gallery and Deja View.
Kristin is a member of the Asheville River District Artists.
Annie Singletary
Annie Singletary is a functional ware potter living in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
The focus of her work is her porcelain utilitarian pottery
decorated with a
wide variety of unique glazes.
Her pieces are designed for serving food and
with them she seeks
to bring natural inspirations to the table.
Joy Tanner
Joy Tanner lives and works in Bakersville, North Carolina.
Her wheel-thrown stoneware and porcelain pieces, fired in a soda kiln, reveal
variation
within the textured surfaces. Each piece is different due
to the reactions
between the clay, slips, wood ash and soda.
Maria Andrade Troya
River District Artist Maria
Andrade Troya creates functional pottery
with a tactile quality emphasized
though the use of various decorative
techniques. Her work features texture as well
as brushwork and
sgraffito. The decorated surfaces reference her
background as
a printmaker.
