General CriteriaOur scholarships are open to North Carolina residents who are public high school seniors, who attend the NC School of Science and Mathematics or the UNC School of the Arts High School, or who study in a home school registered with the North Carolina Division of Non-Public Education. There are some programs open to private high school students in Buncombe County, and a few programs open to students already in college or who are employees or children of employees of certain area corporations. Be sure to check the list of available scholarships and eligibility requirements for further information. The Community Foundation scholarships will be awarded without regard to age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation, religious belief, or any other characteristic protected by law, with the exception of those programs with clearly stated restrictions or preference.
