WNC Regional Scholarships
(Deadline: January 15)
Clyde & Mildred Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund
William Forster, Jr. and Nancy Forster Stevens Scholarship Fund
Lucius Lanier Memorial Fund
Nelle Crowell Fletcher & G.L. Crowell Fund
Together, these funds offer one scholarship to each public high
school in Western North Carolina. Scholarships range from $1,000
non-renewable awards to $5,000 four-year renewable awards.
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a graduating senior of A.C. Reynolds High School, Asheville
High School, Buncombe Community School, C.A. Erwin High School,
C.D. Owen High School, Enka High School, North Buncombe High School
or T.C. Roberson High School
Harry W. Clarke Memorial Scholarship
(Deadline: January 15)
One $1,500 four-year renewable award to students attending four-year
institutions
One $750 two-year renewable award to students attending two-year
community colleges
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a graduating senior of A.C. Reynolds High School, Asheville
High School, Buncombe Community School, C.A. Erwin High School,
C.D. Owen High School, Enka High School, North Buncombe High School
or T.C. Roberson High School
- committed to attending college
within North Carolina
Captain John G. Gardner, USMC, Viet
Nam Veterans Memorial Scholarship
(Deadline: January 15)
Three non-renewable $1,000 awards
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a graduating high school senior
- a relative of an active-duty decorated Vietnam veteran (proof
of military service required)
Richard M. Arnold Scholarship
(Deadline: June 27)
Up to three non-renewable awards of up to
$1,000
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- currently enrolled at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community
College or Southwestern Community College
- working towards a two-year degree or advanced
specialization in Radiologic Technology, with at least one year
of coursework already completed
Asheville Young Woman Leadership Award
(Deadline: January 3)
One non-renewable $1,000 award (may be used as a college scholarship
or towards an approved educational enrichment experience)
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a female high school junior with a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0
- a Buncombe County resident
- enrolled at any public or private high school in Buncombe
County
- able to demonstrate extraordinary leadership and noteworthy
achievements that have benefited your school and community
William Bradley Ayers Memorial Scholarship
(Deadline: January 15)
One non-renewable $1,500 award
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a
graduating member of the Asheville High School band or a previous
recipient of this award
- committed to the completion of an undergraduate degree
Alan Bruckner Young Life Scholarship
(Deadline: January 15)
One non-renewable $2,000 award
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a
graduating senior of A.C. Reynolds
High School
- committed to goals and motivated to succeed
This scholarship has the following special characteristic:
- Preference for students
active in Young Life
R. Walker Geitner III Memorial Scholarship
(Deadline: January 15)
One non-renewable $2,500 award
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a graduating senior of Asheville High School or a previous
recipient of this award
- able to demonstrate consistent and strong
performance in film,
video, visual or performing arts
Brandon F. Miller Memorial Scholarship
(Deadline: January 15)
One non-renewable $1,500 award
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a graduating senior of T.C. Roberson High School
This scholarship has the following special characteristic:
- preference for students who will attend a college or university within the
UNC consolidated system
Jim Duyck Memorial Scholarship Fund for Mountain Youth Baseball, Inc.
(Deadline: June 2)
One non-renewable $2,000 award
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a graduating senior of Asheville High School, A.C. Reynolds High School, C.A. Erwin High School, Enka High School, North Buncombe High School or T.C. Roberson High School
- a current member of the American Legion Baseball/Asheville Post #70 Team
North Carolina Alpha Epsilon Memorial Scholarship
(Deadline: January 15)
One non-renewable $500 award is offered to one school each year
on a rotational basis as follows:
A.C. Reynolds (2008), Asheville High
(2009), C.A. Erwin (2010), C.D. Owen (2011), Enka (2012), North
Buncombe (2013) and T.C. Roberson (2014)
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a female graduating senior
- a member of the class year that the award is offered to your
school
Irving Jacob Reuter Award
(Deadline: January 7)
One $12,000 four-year
renewable award
Up
to five $1,000 non-renewable awards
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a graduating senior of A.C. Reynolds High School, Asheville
High School, Buncombe Community School, C.A. Erwin High School,
C.D. Owen High School, Enka High School, North Buncombe High School,
or T.C. Roberson High School
- able to demonstrate superior academic achievement and potential
- able to demonstrate ability to face life's challenges, large and small
- able to demonstrate a significant track record of community
service, school involvement, extracurricular activities, and/or
work experience
This scholarship has the following special characteristic:
- financial need is not considered
S. Hayes Robinson Memorial Dance Scholarship
(Deadline: January 15)
Two non-renewable $500 awards
To qualify for this scholarship, you must be:
- a graduating senior of a Buncombe County public or private school or a previous recipient of this award
- intending to study and/or seriously participate in any style of performance dance
Rotary Club of Asheville Harry R. Morrill Scholarship
(Deadline: February 11)
A minimum of six non-renewable awards ranging from $3,000 to $5,000
To qualify for this scholarship, you must have:
- superior academic achievement/potential and desire to learn
- demonstrated leadership qualities
- community service/extracurricular activities/work experience
- positive personal outlook
