Foundation Announces $881,032 in Strategy and Opportunity Grants to 61 WNC Organizations

The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina (CFWNC) announces $881,032 in new grants for charitable projects that serve the mountain region. Examples of the 61 funded projects include support for programs that will expand services to homeless people in Asheville, provide nutritious food to low-income children in Polk County and continue development of a "green" infrastructure plan that will guide growth in four WNC counties.

The awards are made from two of the Foundation's competitive grant programs: Opportunity Grants for smaller projects that address immediate needs and Strategy Grants for larger projects designed to promote long-term positive change. Both programs are available to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations and public agencies serving the 18-county mountain region.
