How to Apply for a Women for Women Grant

Organizations are strongly encouraged to set up a phone appointment prior to January 15, 2010 to speak with a program officer for personalized assistance in strengthening grant applications. Contact Virginia Dollar via phone or email (dollar@cfwnc.org).
3 . Submit a Women for Women Grant Application

- Common Budget Form
- Common Budget Narrative
- Common Board List
- Letters of Support - May be included but not to exceed three (3) letters from others that substantively endorse your organization or project. This should include any project partners.
- Audit - A copy of the most recent financial audit should be included by all nonprofits. This is not necessary for public agencies or if you have already submitted this year's audit. If you do not have an audit, please submit your organization's year-end financial statements and most recent 990.
Instructions:
Answer all the Application Narrative within five typed pages (using not less than 11-point font and one inch margins on 8.5 x 11 paper).
Grantseekers must submit a completed application, along with the required attachments, to the Foundation office by 5 p.m. on January 22, 2010. If you plan to drop off the application in person, please note that CFWNC does not validate parking.
Applications may also be mailed to the Foundation's post office box but must be received in the Foundation office by 5 p.m. on January 22, 2010.
In addition to submitting one physical copy of the application and attachments, please e-mail the 5 page narrative to grants@cfwnc.org in Word Format. Please call Virginia Dollar at 254-4960 if you have questions regarding this request.
Faxed applications are not accepted as official submissions.
Mail only one copy of the application and do not use binders, staples or folders.
Do not send additional information beyond that which is requested.
Your organization will receive notification of the receipt of your proposal within two weeks following the application deadline. If you are not notified, please contact the Foundation.
Applications are reviewed with regards to the Women for Women Grant Objectives, the availability of funds, the applicant's capabilities, and the potential benefits to the community.
4. Participate in the Review Process
Selected organizations will be asked to participate in site visits by Women for Women members during March 2010. Grant proposals are evaluated by a review committee, approved by the Women for Women membership, and funding decisions will be announced in mid-May.
Funds are available in June 2010.
Selected Grantees will receive two complimentary tickets to attend the Power of the Purse Luncheon on Monday, May 24th, 2010, at the new Expo Center at the Crowne Plaza Resort.
